We value holidays because it is when we can refuge from all the stress of our daily routine and for obvious reasons we’re constantly chasing destinations that we believe are the most suitable for our needs. You can look at Tenerife as a more than an acceptable place to find inner peace during your holidays and if you are struggling on choosing the “right” side of the island, we are here to help you find what you are looking for.
The touristic part of the island is in the South and it makes perfect sense to be so: there you can find the best resorts with access to beaches, lots of boutique stores in the towns near Los Cristianos and plenty of activities for several tastes. It is also where the weather is more steady, as it does not have many variations. We know we said that the weather on the island is fantastic, however, there can be some variations, being the North wetter than the South. So, starting on the weather challenge, if you are a #1 fan of the sun, South is definitely the place to stay.
Tenerife isn’t just valuable on account of the seashores (although we understand the preference). For those of you who try to investigate sanctuaries of Mother Nature, advance up North. Warning: you may fall in love.
The predominant green shade of the slopes that extends all through the island sanctifies its guests with amazing scenes that can’t be seen anyplace else. No big surprise explorers from various places of the world choose to add Tenerife to their climbing spots. Places like Anaga Rural Park, where most of the island’s natural richness resides, are indeed places worthy of getting lost (not literally, of course). This is a result of that equivalent lavishness that makes Anaga a Biosphere Reserve, evidence of the capacity of protecting its own assets.
A lovely aspect of the Northside is the traditional housing - it is quite impressive how little towns like Tananaga can be born in the middle of Nature and thrive. The most beautiful ones are not so touristy, which means they remain as genuine as they were when they were built.
Concerning nature and touring, book your days off in the Northside of Tenerife, as it is the place every one of these variables rules.
One route for us to more readily know the way of life and conventions of the spots we visit is to be associated with the life of the typical villages. There we can have the ultimate experience that makes us closer to the people that are hosting us and therefore we become much richer as individuals. On this subject, we cannot choose one side of the island; any village in Tenerife is definitely worthy of visiting! However they are close to the shore or in the middle of the hills, villages like Icod de los Vinos or La Caleta represent the best that this island has to offer, from historical and cultural patrimony to traditional cuisine and events.
This is the main reason why Tenerife is such a good place to stay: because there are so many different things to see and to do, any part of the island is worth visiting and exploring. Just make sure to take your time on absorbing the island’s refreshing energies!
